Exciting news for researchers from Pauline McDonald, Research and Development Officer at the College of Occupational Therapists:

Sponsored NIHR Internships for eligible Midwives, Nurses and AHPS in London

As part of the Health Education England (HEE) Integrated Clinical Academic Career Programme, the three HEE local teams working across London have again agreed to collaborate to offer an internship programme for aspiring clinical academics. The programme aims to provide the

requisite skills, knowledge and competence to enable interns to access a Masters of Research (MRes) programme in London.

The internship programme will run over an eight month period from September 2016 to April 2017, during which interns will require secondment from their work place for a minimum of two days per week.

In addition interns will enrol at one of the two designated universities (City University and the Kingston University/St George’s University of London joint faculty) to undertake a customised 30 credit postgraduate programme designed to enable those who successfully complete it to access an MRes programme. Funding will be made available to each intern to cover fees associated

with the academic component of the programme. Some assistance will also be available for secondment / supervision costs.

Deadline for applications: 31 st May 2016, midday. Applications must be accompanied by a letter of support from the applicant’s seconding manager.
