LOTO is an informal grouping for London OTs who work in oncology and palliative care. We meet up a few times per year for an informal discussion about casework and service issues.
We met last week at St Joseph’s Hospice and had a useful discussion about how our various services are working and progressing, and how to promote the OT role within them. The discussion included the role of rehab assistants, use of outcome measures and ways to promote increased OT provision.
We also had a useful discussion and some case vignettes on working with patients with “conversion disorder” or other medically unexplained symptoms.
Working in the palliative care sector is often quite a solitary affair, with lots of OTs working as the sole OT in a service. If you would like to be linked in with the LOTO network to be informed of future meetings, drop us a line at firstname.lastname@example.org
